Ramy Nawar Sings For Ramadan While Modling Too / رامى نوار - متقسمة الأرزاق

Ramy Nawar is one of the new voices trying to breakout in Egypt. Among his monitors and biggest fans is Libyan Egyptian iconic music personality Hamid El Shari who has featured Ramy on one oh his produced CD's for the up and coming voices

The song is about believing that the Lord will provide, he has determined who makes what amount of money, but we all have to work for it. Some call is luck, but as Ramy highlights, it's fate. What I do not like is his outfit, it really kills the song.

Ramy should have dressed down for this song, the song is not about him his jeans and his open shirt. He sounds really good, but I do not think he was lucky in his wardrobe choice. Again, this son might not sit well with most people. If there is anything religious people hate--all of them--hate pride and making the message about self.

When Wael Kfoury Was Cool Not Pathetic

Remember the 90s? If your answer is Yes, then you will know a cool kid from that not so distant past...Wael Kfoury was the invincible kid of Arabic pop. He was everywhere and he was the guy to listen to from Morocco to Dubai from Syria to Sudan he was on every radio. And we loved him for it because his songs made us happy.

But do you remember a happy and dancey Wael Kfoury hit song in the past 10 years? I do not think that would be easy. He has cornered himself in doing lame romantic songs--some of them are good. But such songs have turned Wael the cool happy singer with passion into a zombie whose fans are limited to older women nostalgic to better times.

He has not released an album in a really long time, and he has found trouble finding a company that wants his album--maybe he asks for too much money. I miss the cool Wael who did happy songs and sounded like a fighter in the ring seeking glory. Wael does not talk to the media and his bodyguards rough up photographers in concerts and there's a talk about his non-secret secret marriage.

the song below was one of his better known songs when every concert and party in Arabia played it at weddings, guys and girls found it a hit. It's not too late for Wael Kfoury to make a song of this magnitude, I just do not feel that he wants to anymore.

Tamer Hosny Has A Million Twitter Followers And Other Lies

Tamer Hosny does not tweet often, and he has an unverified twitter account--unlike most celebrities who verify their twitter account to protect.

Yesterday, brother Hosny has announced he now has a million follower on Twitter! But it does not seem those are real people. No other Arab celebrity have reached the million fan rank--I think Haifa Wahbe has the most followers  and she really engaged people.

Here's the Intel on this twitter bullshit. New Egypt Consulting, a firm that does social mega bookmarking and  SEO has announced that Tamer has purchased those followers with money. In the blog post the company states if you look at the followers, they are based in the States, and only a month ago,

  1. June 3rd, 2012, Tamer Twitter page has 78 thousand followers
  2. July 1st, 2012, Tamer Twitter page has 240 thousand followers
  3. And by July 15th, 2012, Tamer has reached the million follower mark--that's 300 percent increase?
In June has had only 18 tweets, and up to July 15th he had only 8 tweets. Plus has has not been in the news and as far as we know he did no go to Tahrir Square to cry again.

If Tamer wanted to maintain that number, he has to pay up some serious cash, as those are rented followers. And one more thing none of these followers is going to be re-tweeting or replying to anything Tamer Hosny says, that's if he had anything to say.

This is not the first time, Tamer Hosny has been accused of paying for love, it's a long established rumor now that most people who faint at his concerts are for hire.
Sometimes you really cannot buy love,

Two Forgettable Songs For Your Viewing Displeasure

What do you do when you have the looks and your hear your mommy telling you that you should start singing? I do not know, but lately it seems that at least one company in Egypt will work with you and make you a music video shot in one of the private villas owned by the company's founder Richard El Hajj

I come bearing two songs that are so karaoke like and tell a very expired love story. The music videos below will make the state of Wisconsin jealous of the amount of cheese featured. In fairness the songs are fun for exactly five seconds and then it all goes away.

Again, I think Ahmed Galal is working for his money and really wants the fame, the other guy is misguided and thinks by playing prince charming he will get a contract. Galal might be a fun opening act, he seems like a cool dude to have a coffee with--an iced coffee. He just need not to wear any of his flashy clothes

Some Pop Songs Are Nothing But Audio Porn

While pop songs are meant to be happy and catchy, some singers mistake pop songs for something else. Singers singing and using that seducing voice and making all those noises associated with sexual acts. I have first heard those songs here in the States. But such have been crossing over to other parts of the world including Arabia.

It starts when a untalented singer (a lazy artist with no ideas also) and a horny consumer. Such songs exist in both Lebanon and Egypt and both males and females have used them. But in general, female Lebanese singers and Egyptian male singers have song such songs. I do not care to name names, but those songs are all around us. I have a dozen names of artists who have dabbled into songs of this nature, where there are sexually suggestive language.

I find Lebanese pop filled with such songs, and Egyptian Sha'abi music as well. The artist is not the only one to blame, listeners should also get the blame. But ultimately, it's the fault of the company and the network that promotes such flits that can only comes form lazy and people who have expired artistically.

Feel Free To Hate That Shithead Tamer Hosny

I cannot help it, but I still cannot stomach this guy anymore. He might have recorded some big songs--in his world, but he is still a tiny little guy. He traveled to Hollywood trying to get the attention of people around the Arab World, no body seemed to tune in.

Now he has a concert in Morocco, where he saw a big and warm reception. I will not argue with that, he is a star but those who got no education and those who are glued to their TV screens. He did hold a pres conference while there. Remember the old Tamer would never talk to anybody and he would never take questions. He now has to blame the humble boy game.

He danced on the stage and tried to pretend everything is ok. Here's the sad reality, he will not sell a big concert in Egypt. He won't, he might pack it with his buddies and friends for free, but few would pay a dime to see him. His concert was free for the masses in Morocco. He even went to Jordan for another concert and spoke to the pres.

It looks like the uni-brows are back this summer. Some journalist actually said something pretty cool. "I wish you have not made your movies" Tamer tried to play it cool and saying he made money! This is not about art anymore, he is all about the money, little misguided teenagers and zombies.

Safy, When Pop Disappoints And A Song Goes Unnoticed

Pop music is supposed to be fun, and not unintentional funny. I could not stop myself from laughing at the music video for this mediocre song by Safy. No surprise that Safy is not a name that most know. The concept of the music video--if you want to call it that is shitty.

Farmers dancing in the bushes in laughable outfits and there are cowboys and weird dancers. Camels, trucks and poor dance moves. It does feel awkward watching the clip, as I do not like to be mean, but this one makes it so easy to be so. Fame is a bitch if you have to do something that you do not feel right about. Safy might not be a pop star, but she seems like a nice person.

Safy - Leil Wara Leil / صافي - ليل ورا ليل

Another sub-par music video and song from Safy, it's catchier than the first one. It feels like it has been directed under the same ideas of the first music video but with a new look.
Safy - Kaddab Zamano / صافي - كداب زمانه

How To Let Your Music Video Director To Ruin It?

Simple, let them apply all the ideas they have on your music video. This way they would make your music video a lab rat, a testing ground for all and any of their untested ideas. This way they will surely give you one shitty music video that looks like an overflowing salad bowel loaded with salad dressing and none of the fresh produce.

I guess what my analogy is trying to say, you should be the judge and in the driver seat, don't let some guy with a fancey press release sell you one something that doe snot feel right. You want an example of what I am talking about, look no further than the video below. While the song is hip, the music video disappoints and confuses one's soul.

This is a pop song by Rahma Riad, it was supposed to be a treat, now I feel bad for the star who has shown so much promise. The pictures,m they tried to pain fall flat and the looks do not necessary work well for Raham (what's up with the all black dancers?). And what's sup with that eye mask look? Some bold hair cuts too! Why stop there? Bring the disco ball too!

One More Shitty Egyptian Song Won't Hurt

I do not know who Amgad Omar is, but other than his name, I think he mostly sucks. Neither his voice nor his personality entertain. So why bother and release a music video that feels a lot like torture? While I like pop music, there has to be a threshold singers ought to have.

Amgad got nothing and his song disappoints. But to be disappointed in hims is not accurate. Because it implies that one had high expectations for the young star, when we really did not. Now the guy is young, good looking and can dance, so I would say modeling/ adverting maybe?

I am not the one to hate--only if you are Tamer Hosny, but this one was just a terrible song all around.

Emy And Teen "Glee" Pop In "Anany Awy"

Maybe Glee and the remake of Footloose are changing the dance and singing music forever. But when I watch a clip like the one below, I wonder who on their right mind would authorize, and release such low grade pop song?

Where have all those pop stars gone? I cannot believe I will miss them, but I am. I cannot take the average. I do not know, if any teen readers who read the blog, can give me their take. I really like to know if there's value in the music below. At least pop does not promise much, it just wants to make you happy for a minute.

Just like all the young stars out there, I'm for all things new, and I do wish her well in her future plans. The song is titled "very selfish" as that's how her boy is acting. In addition to having a terrible song, the music video is laughable.

اغنية تاكى ام تى ام - سياسى | On Politics Takki MTM - Seyasy

The all Egyptian rapper strikes once again with a song about the fools who pretend to know about political and dabble into talking on the subject. While I disagree and I think all people should be able to entitled to their opinions, I did enjoy the song.

Takki is a popular rapper who has stayed out of the spotlight for some time now, until he released his latest rap song about politicians and politics in Egypt at the moment. Takki is still a member of the MTM band and he is working on a music video for this song of his.

Takki wrote the lyrics and the music himself and as I can tell, many in the virtual world loved have expressed love for this song prompting Takki to make a music video for his single.

The Song Homeless Kids In Egypt Won't Be Hearing

For a number of known and unknown reasons, there are kids living in the streets of Egypt under bridges and wherever they can catch some sleep. It's a problem in many parts of the world too, but it should not be happening in Egypt. There are many broken homes in Egypt and there are too many places to look if god forbids you were to lose a child.

A kid of those in the streets just made a song about the homeless kids sleeping the streets. Vocally the song disappoints, but he is a kid, he might have been rive by a noble cause. He is too young to be this sad. The lyrics of the song are really hard to take in from a young boy. The song is about the dreams of such kids and the simple things they seek in life.

It's a sha'abi style song, it does tell real stories of how the problem gets started. Like when someone marries a gains and there's a step parent.

Fat Amr Katamesh Wants To Sell You Chicken

He was supposed to be a funny poet, the kind the reads poetry in slang and with a great deal of humor and play on words. Two years later he is back this time in a commercial selling Arab chicken that will make them fat and clog their arteries.

He surely needed the money as he is a married man now. He is reading his bucket of chicken poetry and making us all want to buy the food--he did his job. This ad might have some truth in advertising, a fat guy wants you to enjoy something that will make you just as fat as he is.

Not sure what does fried chicken has anything to do with poetry....but here's the video that will make a lot of business people very rich.

Saad Soghayar: The Jackass Meets The Talentless

Ammar or Qamar, is a Lebanese B list singer who does not have a good name in the business--she tried to accuse a rich guy of fathering her out of wedlock baby. He is not even a man, he does not move like one for sure and he sleeps with anything that walks or so is his reputation.

Here's what passes for a duet nowadays, a singer and another one she danced and sings and so does he. The song does not matter, because it really sucks. She is there to look good and show some skin, he got nothing that resembles decency. This is like a PG-13 rated strip club scene.

This clip comes to promote a movie that so far has failed to make anything back to its investors. A movie that  have not seen and do not plan to. So far they have featured at least 4 songs from the movie. They even use a little girl to carry an adult language--a sleazy kind.

Stupid Arab Media Elite Glamourize Bedouin Life

See the video below for Myriam Fares dances in the desert among tents. I am a proud Arab but I cannot take the portrayal of Bedouins in Arab media. They make it look like one hell of lifestyle. Bedouin life is not a choice, it was born out of necessity. The moment, they had money, they abandoned this life style and moved into one of those tall buildings.

Sure, the dreses they use here are nice, but they look like nothing the Badu or Bedouins in the desert would wear. I gues keping it real. This clip was part of a dancer show, the song is a very popular title Ya Saria, an old Arab poetry meme that appears in more than one work. So it took a Lebanese entertainer who vacations in Miamia to tell us how Bedouin really live.

I know that life in the desert is not about glamour, dances and good looking people. I have seen it from up and close. Myriam loves the Gulf money, and thus she had to do something to stand from the pack. She is a talented dancer no doubt and she used to make good choices in songs, but few are listening now.

I Never Liked Razan "رزان" And I Was Right Not To

Razan El Maghraby "رزان المغربي" came into the spot light on TV as a TV personality, then she got into the game shows, then she started to sing and act. So she was sort of all over the place. The reasons for me not liking her is that I have felt she was a fake and that she has an elitism problem. She always came across as this girl who she thinks of herself as better than most.

And she was always selling the bold card, as I am cool I do whatever I want. Take for example, the music video below when she shocked the system with doing a lot of bedroom acts. Not just that, the song is infused with sexually suggestive language that was too obvious. Many hates that song of hers and called it garbage. I think Tamer Hosny was involved in the song, he wrote and composed this horny song.

But then two years ago Razan was in deep trouble, a leaked video of hers with some dude as she speaks sex and pretend to perform oral sex on that guy who was drinking beer. Razan's video got leaked and her career seems to have ended at the moment.

No TV is picking her up again. While she has apologized about the video and defended herself. What I also hate when these people get caught they use the tired excuse, "I am a girl from the East who respects her culture"! Oh yeah people. they always say that.

Razan's video went viral and everybody even those who speak ill of her have seen it, my beef with her is not just the video, it's that she is a person who is out of touch.

One More Shitty Lebanese Pop Song Won't Hurt

Lebanon, the land of beauty knows how to party. That's why Arabs and singers go there often. The reality is this, many Arab singers call Lebanon home--just the city of Beirut though. So, anyone who is Lebanese, enjoys a great deal of look, a mediocre voice, and some connection of some sort, they try to make a music video.

The music video makes it big, that person is a star. The music video fails, then that person can get married based on their 15 minutes of fame. That's the impression I got when I heard the song of Tamara  in Sodfa. It's not even entertaining for a pop song at least for me.

Tamara will do well in other careers, it's just too competitive at the moment for pop stars, plus we are all distracted at the moment, you either. The music video is mostly filmed at the local gyms with thr studs flirting and winking at our beloved singer.  Then he asked her to marry him, she gets shy. In reality she would tell him to buzz off.

Amr Mostafa Starve Himself To Death....Please!

Amr Mostafa or what was once a smart Egyptian composer, musicians and singer now pulling yet another stunt. He announced on Facebook that he will go on a hunger strike until his buddy former dictator Hosny Mubarak gets out of jail. He even asked people to pray for Mubarak.
عمرو مصطفى يضرب عن الطعام لحين الإفراج عن مبارك مصادر مختلفة

Mostafa had had a great relationship with the regime, where he used to do music for their political campaign. He has been against the revolution from day one, released a song for Mubarak's birthday when the former president was in jail. Then he goes on the attacks against everybody that does not carry the last name Mubarak. Mostafa has even threatened to use violence against people who disagree with him. He promised to teach them a lesson.

Now he is so touched to see that justice is now coming to Mubarak, he announced he will not longer eat until his main man Mubarak leaves prison. Amr has asked the human rights groups to document his hunger strike. Some sources conf rim that the singer has put a little weight lately and thus he needed to lose some of it anyway. If you really want o have fun, read the comments on the articles, most commentators are asking him to keep his word and speed up his trip to hell where he can find his man Mubarak. While we do not wish death to anyone, it's funny to see how people are reacting. One reader suggested this way as the best approach to get rid of shallow characters like Amr's.

I think Amr needs to focus on his music career now and do what he has voluntary promised to do--leave the country. He does have a littl girl whom he should think about as he pulls such stunts to support people who would have never cared about him or his family had he been an average citizen.

Using Children in Arab Cinema To Say Adults Stuff

The little girl's name is Jana and she is all over Egypt's entertainment at he moment, she has stared in at least three movies to date. She has appeared in a music video with Sandy and on top of that she has a talk show on TV where she interviews celebrities.

The girl is innocent, but the adults in the music video are not. The lyrics are suggestive sexually, the lead female voice in the song Amar sounds like she is part of a porno using her sexy voice when in fact she is telling a story to kids. This is the sickest part of Egyptian pop culture where they put kids in those circumstances and use them as mouthpieces for perverted dialogue.

I think this movie will make tons of dollars as dumb movies seem to do well at the moment.

How Corporations Bought The King of Egypt's Pop

While Mohamed Mounir is no populist leader, he commands a great deal of respect at home and abroad. This legendary folksy funky singer has finally get a huge paycheck from a global  telecommunication company Vodafone. They have used the singer in their promotional material and TV ads to try to steal the thunder from other national telecommunication networks--even the Egyptian ones.

The story goes like this, they first approached him, and the money changes his heart. I know things are not going well in the music industry in Egypt, and artists need to get paid too. That's all fine and dandy, until the company did not like some of the proposed lyrics for the song Mounir will launch as part of the marking bonanza.

Written by Nasir Eldeen Naji, and composed by Mohamed Rahim. Vodafone did not think the lyrics are fit for their marketing, so they got the lyrics changed to fit their marketing campaign. The song was kept out of Mounir's latest album (we really love that one) Mounir perfomred the song in his latest concert of few weeks part of Sham Al Niseem celebrations. The song is about breaking free and doing your own thing.
