Here's a fresh sounding rap song from the Palestinian Gaza based rapper known as Mc Gaza. Mc Gaza filmed his rap video in Gaza City, consider it a tour of Gaza downtown--everywhere else sucks really. Feel free to spot the rapper filling in for the unknown solider monument. Looking slick and stylish ain't easy in Gaza, but rappers have to have a swag.

I like the graffiti, and the masked man represents something, not sure what it's at the moment--maybe Israeli collaborators. I do not like the smoking bit, it''s really not cool Mc Gaza. The video gets wired toward the middle with the rapper shaking and incredible closeup.

Keep on mind, this is a local production where there is little support for artists, so A for effort.

Somali Rapper K'NAAN A Product Of Africa, Arabia And America

I first heard a word of him by one activist friend of mine who has been listening to this young rapper whom he referred to as dope! Then I read a blog post by him on the Somali pirates where he made the case for some of those pirates. I liked his point about how European ships having been stealing the fish resources off the coast of Somali.

K'naan put the pirate activities are put in context. That was 2009, and by 2010 K'naan was the star of Choice for Coke. They picked him to do the official Coke song in time for the World Cup in South Africa. K'naan took the coke deal and did well. Part of his contract was to appear with a number of local and global stars in doing marketing duets for the company. I know in our end Nancy Ajram did the song with him, but he went to every other country and did a song in the local language--he sang in English. Turkey, Russia and other places were on his map.

He did well for the company and was a clear choice as he would go and do all sorts of concerts...and by that he established his global brand. And thus his music followed.

A bit of information on the talented rap master:

K'naan's namesake means "traveler" in Somali, but it's a significant name in Palestine too--The natives of Palestine track themselves to their great father who was named K'naan.

K'naan was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, just as the civil unrest began to shake things off in his beloved motherland. Surival was the key thing for K'naan, his father was living in the States at the time and would send his young song rap songs all the way form the land of rap. K'naan would tune in and eventually pick his trade. At the tender age of 13 K'naan and his family mange to find their way to America to live in Harlem, shortly aftetr they would move to Ontario Canada to join a large Somali community up North. There K'naan  picked up English and as he was confident he started spiting lyrics.


As most rappers would attest, skipping school plays K'naan hit the road and started performing in various venues part of the Direct Current Media. His biggest break came in the UN as he performed in 1999 in Geneva where K'naan  would pile on the international organizations efforts in Somalia. There K'naan left an impression on a Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour. Youssou would later ask K'naan to contribute to his 2001 album Building Bridges. This project K'naan was able to tour a number of cities around the world.


Some of the names that K'naan collaborated with included Mos Def and Talib Kweli and a performance at the Live 8. Several collaborations and few years later cmae his much celebrated album Troubadour became K'naan's first for the major-label  album. After his track "Wavin' Flag" became the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. K'naan would follow that by More Beautiful Than Silence EP arrived in 2012.

Review: "The Inevitable Change" Album By Qusai

Qusia might have just figured out how to make an album with a true positive message that speaks to the youth and speaks of their aspirations and frustrations. The word rapper and intellectual should not belong to the sae sentence, but Qusai might have merged the two world with the release of his much celebrated album "The Inevitable Change" an album not made on the cheap, an album in which traditions and heartfelt lyrics are crucial ingredients.

This is an album that will seal the mouths of those who have criticized rap and rappers, because with his lyrics flow and uplifting verses Qusai puts it all together in one album. The album has 12 tracks and offer a verity of songs in both English and Arabic. Qusai seems like a nice guy whose fans are truly in love with him. Those who might not love him cannot help but respect the Saudi rapper who knows that for rap to go mainstream in Arabia, it has to promote old values and things that people like to hear--pan-Arab unity and good virtues.

The album is a huge collaboration between the West and East--do not miss the hard rock bit and other fusions. I can now safely say, that with Qusai making music, the excuse to "I do not listen to Arabic songs" is no longer relevant. Why? Because Qusai can do both languages/styles and you would not tell the difference. For those politically savvy, will cheer the track on what see around us as a result of the Arab Spring--the album does not forget about Palestine--which he rightfully dubs, the Number one issue

Qusia kicks of his album with the verse Peace Be Upon You and then jumps into it. Qusia who has spend his time well in the States perfected (and perhaps improve) on this rebellious art form. But don't panic, the album has its fun parts with fresh beats and dance moments. The album is like an autobiography for Qusai who takes his listeners into a eye-popping journey that started in Saudi Arabia with a layover in America. You will feel that you move form the local mosque, to the souk, into the coffee shop, then into the club without ever getting disoriented or bored.

While thee has been many popular Arab rappers in the past 15 years or so, no one has worked as hard as Qusai has shown. Qusai has a lot of offer which he makes look easy because most of his hard work is behind the scenes. This is one produ rapper who has manged to be different by being proud of what makes him so great--home.

Arabic pop can feel old sometimes, and the same goes for any kind of popular music. Change is good, and finding something exciting to jam to is priceless. This is about I feel about Qusai, new album "The Inevitable Change" The Saudi rapper who made it huge on Arabs Got Talent.

His stage name is also Don Legend the Kamelion, which makes sense of a TV personality, a rapper and a songwriter who can also be a mean DJ. Qusai was picked by Platinum Records which is based in Dubai and they are releasing his debut album to many--it's really his third.

Qusia is no lightweight, he does have a good brain over his shoulder. Educated in the United States Florida where he has two degrees including an MBA. It's there where he picks his interest in rap and music where he rolled with a number of RB producers. Qusia brought something cool to the rap game. He does have a solid background in both English and Arabic. So when he spits out lines in both languages at the same time, one cannot help but be swoon.

Qusai have hosted a number of TV shows about hip hop and music, he remains active as a TV personalty. He does have a large fan base throughout the Arab world and outside. This might be the upside of having an MBA and a rare talent that many are hungry for.

This will be a good social album with many uplifting messages that youth ought to hear. Perhaps we have the many talents of Qusai to thank for this incredible album.

The all Egyptian rapper strikes once again with a song about the fools who pretend to know about political and dabble into talking on the subject. While I disagree and I think all people should be able to entitled to their opinions, I did enjoy the song.

Takki is a popular rapper who has stayed out of the spotlight for some time now, until he released his latest rap song about politicians and politics in Egypt at the moment. Takki is still a member of the MTM band and he is working on a music video for this song of his.

Takki wrote the lyrics and the music himself and as I can tell, many in the virtual world loved have expressed love for this song prompting Takki to make a music video for his single.

Maw3ood | Deeb - موعود | ديب "Cold Peace" Album

Forget the distant past, this song is about today. Deep rapped this song to tell people in his country to look out for Egypt. He started his song with the voice of Abdel Halim on the song for Maw3ood! Then when you think you can relax, comes Deeb spitting his poetic lines and venting his rage.

Filmed near the famous wall put in Egypt to block protesters from reaching some critical establishment offices. Where graffiti took over the wall and expressed what goes on the minds of many people. Even Palestine get to have its presence on the wall. The song is part of an upcoming album "Cold Peace" written and produced by Deeb himself

This is a really good rapper, he is not a poster, not even one bit. He flows and delivers on punch after another like a fighter in the ring. Deeb is showing his roots by giving shout outs to figures in Egyptian music like Makawi, by doing so he tells people he is no impostor. He doubles down and uses the name of some of the names of local and ancient religious figures.

The song closes with the Egyptian flag and a dedication to all the fallen heroes of the Arab Spring.

Jordan Is Ahead Of The Curve With Fads

Beat Box or human jukebox are hot in certain parts of town. But it seems that we are no longer amazed by the combination of strange and cool talent that many young men and women have started to boast about. Jordan got a big group of hip human jukebox and told them to compete against one another in a festival that brought so many young people in one place.

Needless to say there was break dancers too and a lot of bros in saggy clothes. I am guessing if the purpose to make instruments out of a job, then these guys fail. But I am feeling it's something young people do to impress others in their age group.

So all the hip kids from Jordan...20 talents took part of this event between the ages of 16 and 25 years old. Some of those who have been interviewed spoke how people look down on them and mock them. The problem people did not know what to expect and tended to belittle the beat boxers. Lips, tongues, and mouth!

Ahbab Family Dances, Raps And Reads Poetry

The only Arab country that has not revolted or offered serious reforms is Morocco. Now comes a band from that country that is singing about freedom, but they are also asking people to abandon politics. Call them Ahbab Family, that's the name they go by.

I like the poetry part of the show, it seems native to them. There are raps and English songs part of their showcase. I can tell the in house audience loved it. I love the flow and the urban dance bit. It looks like they wanted to make a show where all Arabs can enjoy..the traditionalist and the hip ones.

While their show was cool, they seemed to have filed to impress the judges. Never mind, these guys seem to ignite a great deal of Moroccans all around the world. Arabs Got Talent did do one thing right, they allowed most Arabs to see how talented young Moroccans are.

The Autism Arabic Rap By Mc Dahab

Sure many can be classifieds as autistic when in fact they are not. This is the fault of lazy adults who are just too busy to do the research. But autism is a real disease no matter what the nay sayers say. Needless to say many loving parents in the Arab world and beyond refuse to accept that there's something wrong with their kids, so the disease goes untreated.

So when a young talented rapper picks up a word of the disease and see the struggles of people living with autism go through at home, he raps about it. First he introduces the disease with few facts about then, then mentions the names of great people who were autistic. Then he dives into the rap about it.

It's a very good song that advocates for better rights for autistic people, and that they should not be looked down upon. I like how he breaks into the song about growing up different and wanting to play alone, but that does not make him a weirdo. I am unaware that Mc Dahab is autistic, but he seems to have a good grip at it and seems to bring all things together. Enjoying the sound of the beach, the cal to prayer and other things people often take for granted.

Mc Gaza: Gaza's Angriest Rapper

A young rapper from Gaza is gaining momentum at the moment, his rhythms and his poetry really does fly, and his rage too obvious. Rap is not a popular art in Gaza with the masses, but it's becoming something of a reality. Dude tot he complicated and sometimes tragic circumstances in Gaza, the young of Gaza are frustrated and lost. Many are doing a drugs to help them cope with their problems in the short term.

Rap is Mc Gaza's drug of choice, it helps him take a bad situation and turn it into a positive experience. like he just. Releasing a song for the Palestinian prisoners who just have finished one the longest hunger strikes in the history of man kind. It's a very good work indeed. I look the way he spits lines faster than one can predict them.

The track is nostalgic to old leadership, Yasir Arafat and Ahmed Yassin. Using clips from one of Arafat's interviews in English The rap song raises good points about the divisions between Gaza and the West Bank. It's official the internet memes are taking over the world and they have now turned to Palestine.

I really would love to see a song from Mc Gaza about the dangers of drugs....he can tell those kids that such things won't make anything better--I know they would listen then.

Some know Saudis to be religious than most people, but in reality is much more complicated to grasp. Take the example of Qusai aka Don Legend the Kamelion, he is a hip singer from the Kingdom. By watching his music video for Yalla, I cannot help but conclude that this guy cannot be from Saudi Arabia, just look at how many female dancers he has with him. Qusai came to fame after his appearance on Arabs Got Talent. Therefore, he filmed his music video in Lebanon.

His style is something of a new age hip hop that mixes both English and Arabic with a flow too fast for m to comprehend. But then comes Farah, the female lead with him who does not disappoint. The song is part of the Qusai's album The Inevitable Change, this is a change you can believe in. At the song has its moments and I think it's change in heart and soul of Arabic music.

The garage dance by those barrels feels expired, but the cinematography doesn't have to. I like the lyrics toward the end asking people to stop being hypocrites. "no shortcuts to your dreams" goes the song. The outfits seem to be picked in one trip the mall and mushed together for this music video. Yes, there's a famous fashion store that gave them the clothes. The graffiti is colorful and the Lebanese dancing troupe allows a frame of reference. In the scene where Qusai flees from the police, the girl tells him to hide in her car and puts him in the driver seat.

Egyptian Karim Naguib And His Arabic 3D Song

3D pictures are so 2009, but they have landed in Arabia a year ago. Few have attempted at using them in Arabic music videos, but those were lame attempts, as the technology is not ready in Arabic market--they are not still completely ready here either. But the level of awareness on this technology is higher here for sure. Now comes a hip and a bold Egyptian singer/rapper who gave the technology a shot

Filming in Europe does the trick. At least we get to see some cool scenes as the artists walks around town followed by a camera. This is cool song that sounds fresh in terms of the flow and lyrics. It's a stand alone song rich with meaningful lyrics from a guy whose critics are many.

Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, Iraq including Arabs and Kurd all love this group dance, it's our river dance! Locking hands together and swinging one's feet in the air and on the floor. This energizing dance that often brings more Arabs to the dance floor than any other dance. It might be the only group dance we know.

Folklore dance and troupes manged to preserve this art and even the most sophisticated person can take part of this village dance. It took two young persons to make this rap about someone who wanted to learn the way lf the debka. The rap is pretty amateurish but funny in bad way.

Mc Dahab + Sir MeDo Drop Dead Song

Mc Dahab found a partner in his assault on the new dictatorship in Egypt, he is now been paired up with Sir MeDo, an equally enraged Egyptian rap. Frustration in Egypt is hard to miss, the youth feel that their revolutions is being bastardized by the politicians and the army. What many have died for is now going back to where things used once to be.

Allowing old regime members to run is not a clever choice, it really united the parties of Egypt against the Supreme Council For Armed Forces. Thus this song has been the most viewed song from the young Egyptian rapper. Calling for changing is nothing new, but imagine this: a rapper who is a news junkie raps the news and rapps the frustrations he hears as he takes on the streets.

This is not a song from a guy who lived in villa and watches TV, it's a song from a person who has seen news in the making, he saw the death and the chaos in the first person. Mc Dahab calls is as he sees it, no more military council rule and enough injustices. It's hard to see this song changing anything, but from the looks of it Mc Dahab is no longer alone. His songs are intimidating all the right people.

MC Dahab Prophet of Doom On Egypt

"Get ready to get screwed" raps this young Egyptian rapper Mc Dahab.

I know that most are unhappy about the latest political moves in Egypt. Many see such moves are designed to undermine the Islamic candidates who have the best chances to win the presidential election. While, I am not fan of Islamic rule as seen by the few who have a holier than though mantra. I do not vote, and I want those who vote to make their choice.

Mc Dahab is watching all these things and he sees that everybody is piling on the candidates that he happened to like. Yes, we both see that there's a nasty games that is being orchestrated in the dark. I like the lyrics he comes up, for a young guy he is well versed in both history and current events. Islam, politics, Hosny Mubarak and Islamic rule.

Unlike many songs of Mc Dahab, this song can only be understood and enjoyed if you have been watching the latest development in Egypt, or if you are an Egyptian. This is a partisan song as some will see it. I do commend the rapper for writing this song, it should be a no brainer. Those who have murdered people and assisted or approved of the Mubarak regime murdering people, should not be allowed to run for president.

There's a poetry in this song and there's also rage as the rapper feels his dream and the dreams of many are about to fade away to make room for people who have come from the past brining with them all things we have hated about the past.

MC Gaza And Rapping For Barcelona's Soccer

Mc Gaza is doing a rap song, but nothing that has been done before not in Arabic anyway. A rap song for soccer fans who love this magical team. I am not going to pretend that I know much about club teams in soccer--I do not. But this is a team that probably has bigger fan base than any other sport team in the world.

MC Gaza is no stranger to rap, he has worked in Egypt and collaborated with other rappers there. Ibrahim Ghunaim AKA Gaza is that talent. His passion for soccer and rap have finally met and the road took them through Gaza. You can also get the subtitle for in a number of languages. I like this rap, but most of all I think the rapper needs a shot.

البوم احمد مكى Ahmed Mekky 2012 Rap Album Is Here

Funny man, actor rapper Ahmed Mekky just released his first rap album. It's awesome, fresh and delivers the punches. This is an album that is well produced, well written and rich musically. Mark my word, this will be the most downloaded album of this year if not ever. Ahmed is a big name in Arabic entertainment.

I love the album and I cannot wait to give it a second listen. Love the collaboration with all the names, Mekky wrote the lyrics and thus they have humor--humor and rage are good in rap. Egypt is not short in rage these days, but they still have laugh about things.

This is an album that Ahmed wanted to make, and we know he has the chops for it. His style is his alone. The way he follows is a breath of fresh air. There's even some religion and just about every topic you would want to hear about is there. Egypt, people, God, ladies and humor.

Boyz in the Hood days have been gone for long, but not in Morocco if one rapper has his way. This famously bearded rapper who actually can play instruments and has a music muse. I love his music as he incorporates music from the local scene and pair it with easy flow lyrics.

Sure cars, bling bling, basketball outfits. It's insane how similar the music video below feels to American rap--like of Snoop Dog, DMX and many more. Morocco strikes me as a country high in testosterone with millions of frustrated young man who want to be heard and rap provides one way. Get to know the name MC Pirate, he feel like he is the real deal.

I was never big on rap, or underground rap for that matter, but every now and then I tune in to the conversation. MC Pirate released his latest album and it offers a variety of tracks to suit all tastes and styles.

The singes are all there, most Egyptian singers are cleaning up their acts, and pretending to care about the youth. If not the youth, then they will sing for Egypt. This is because the country is not so ready for music at this moment. Also the Islamic traditionalist are on the rise.

But not to worry, two cool and active singers are watching your back and masking sure that you do not do drugs, so they have joined forces to get you not to do drugs. The music video has a decent cinematography, but the best thing about is is its lyrics. It's very heavy as it's packed with charged lyrics to get you to stop bring an end to your life by drugs.

The only two things that these two singers have in common is that they are both Egyptians and they are both excited about their joint project. One does pop, the other does spoken word.
