Lebanese director Leila Kanaan has shared with the web a sneak peak of the new Nancy Ajram look for her all kids album. The title will be Super Nancy, and that will be a character played by Nancy thought out the album and its promotional material.
It's a sad day when Arab parents let other people teach their kids good lessons. Nancy Ajram is a good mother and a great positive role model for all kids out there, but that does not mean she should replace parenting. I do not think that's her plan, but this is what most Arab parents do when they let outsiders preach to their kids for money.
Aside dorm that, this will be a fun album for all the kids out there. We have already heard a teaser for the upcoming album.

This Ramadan there,s a show that will take everyone by storm, a lighthearted comedy about being a girl. Who knows best than Nancy Ajram, a young singer who made it big when she was younger than 20, she is the mother of two girls and the daughter of a strong and young at hear woman.
Nancy has made it cool to be a girl, perhaps less awkward maybe. The spunky years are important and it seems Nancy is happy to always be a young girl in the inside and outside. That's why she was the voice for the new comedy about girls. She has sang the main song for the show and so far it seems to be a great choice.
People now want to tune in to this show as the great Nancy who is a Huge star and has the highest likability rating in Arabic pop. I might not like the show because it seems to be going for "Friends" or any other American show. It seems to be about being a city girl who likes to think she is modern and stuff. The sad part, it was a guy who wrote the lyrics, not a woman. As far as we can tell the lyricist likes women too.
But as for the song, its spot on cute, and accurate too. So take notes guys, do not screw up and if you do, there's a right way to handle it and a wrong one...Nancy Ajram will show you the way.

Why do celebrities expect us to care about their kids? Do we really care that much or do we even have time to tune in? I mean some celebrities are shameless in trying to talk about their kids. Just look at the clips from the hospital room where Assalah is showing us where it all went down, the moment they were born and then them growing up.
This is really strange, do the kids have a say in this matter? Why do celebrities bring their kids to the spotlight? Has not not ruined so many lives before? Assalah does have kids from her previous marriage, and onlive TV she has exchanged kisses (on the mouth) with Tarik.
Aside from this, this should be a family song, not a song release for the masses--keep in mine Assalah has a jerk ex husband who speaks ill of her every chance he get. The song features her husband Tarik--a music producer and her two twins Adam and Ali. Then Assalah gives her mother a sincere shout out who has helpled her in each step along the way. She sends a prayer to her late father.
Again, this is a great song, I have to admit. my issue is with the images of the little kids. Do you notice the minimal makeup? It's kind of a star in a different light.

When Ayman Bahjat Qamar--a household name in Egyptian music wants to take a break form writing the same old songs---I love you, and your eyes have magic, he takes the time to write the lyrics for this album. Ayman loves funky and wacky Egyptian comedic singer known as Abo Leefa or Nadir Abu El Nour. He made a big success of him in their 2012 collaboration and they are back at it again for a sequel.
This time they have more money, more support and most of all bigger market. The music market in Egypt is hungry for this album as everything seems so serious and so gloomy. Humor is in order and Abu Leefa knows how to humor us while he delivers one line after another. Making many of his songs superstitious about bad spirits and people while jinx everything.
The "Super Leefa" features better music and higher production value, a variety of musical styles form the old Oriental beat to the hip hop style. Abu El Leef did mange to be super secretive about his album, and when it was announced it was a treat no one saw coming. Aside form the humor, there are songs that offer wisdom about this life and people in it. I like his title song where he sounds like a 1930 singer tackling a current day issue--secret marriages.
Before he was singer Abu El Leef was broke and did a number of odd jobs so you know he has a lot ob bitter stories to tell about his family who did not come to his help, but when he made it big, they all lined up--think of those rapper who rap about such matters. He has another song about those who attack the arts and he is taking them to task.
Neither his singing career nor his new found career of acting is over, but the charming singer with exotic eyes is helping sell a movie in which he co-starred with not one but two strong female leads. I thought Nour's career was dead on arrival last year when he sang for Mubarak and apologized to him. But he is not done yet. The singer joined the cast of adapted comedy movie "Game Over" where he plays a police officer.
But one of the songs that appear in the movie or at least help sell it is one of Nour's and It's a nice summer treat with a lot of rights going for it. It's romantic summer playful beach side song where Nour does his thing so well. As he sings he falls in love with Mai Ezzdeen about the games of a new found love--chicken games who shows that he/she needs the other more.
It's beautiful song with the title "It (his heart) will win" I like Nour and think his days with WAMA have done him a solid, but he is one of the few members who have manged to have a career on their own. Thus Nour now joins his band mate Ahmed Fahmy who has appeared in scores of flicks.
The clip can be seen as corny, the dance moments are weak, but it appears as if the actors have chemistry on screen. I do know that Nour is happily married.
Canadian singer Weird Al has been entertaining the masses with humor and pop songs, he does it by writting simple songs that lampoons other popular songs with a humorous twist. Just look the pictures of the singer above and you cannot not see the weirdness and contradictions in it.
Egypt has met its own version of Weird Al in 2009, with a guy so weird that most had no idea how to classify him. At first he worked under the name Abu Leefa, but then he changes his name to Abu El Rish, and nobody seems to know what to call him anymore. He has become a household name and has appeared in a number of talk shows.

For Chadi Korkomaz good looks are not easy, but party music comes to him naturally. I think he has one of the most socially aware songs I have seen in a really long time. The song is about families who spend their hard earned money to teach their kids, only to find the employment is not that worth it. Chadi is a local Lebanese singer whose greatest break to date a concert in the United Arab Emirates.
I have always criticized young people who pretend it;s the 1900 and go to study some old studies that does little good to humanity. I will not tell you what majors are useless, but everyone of us knows at least of a dozen university majors that does nothing to those who hold it.
Chadi sang about it and made the point that he wished his family would have invested his college money into something more productive. This is a real song about good people who make bad decisions. Some of those jobs does not oay for anything. The all Egyptian rapper strikes once again with a song about the fools who pretend to know about political and dabble into talking on the subject. While I disagree and I think all people should be able to entitled to their opinions, I did enjoy the song.
Takki is a popular rapper who has stayed out of the spotlight for some time now, until he released his latest rap song about politicians and politics in Egypt at the moment. Takki is still a member of the MTM band and he is working on a music video for this song of his.
Takki wrote the lyrics and the music himself and as I can tell, many in the virtual world loved have expressed love for this song prompting Takki to make a music video for his single.
To be poor is not something bad, to be broke might be. However, we all love a someone who is doing a song about being broke. I especially love Samy Shamsy because his song goes against all things pop. While most pop singers boast about the cool life and the clubs, he is doing the anti-pop song song. A song about his miserable finances.
He calls is chronicle poverty. Kicking off song with a solid mawal performance. Then he asks God for relief. This is a new single that will make it big with high school kids. I love the story where the girl he loves is going to get married to her cousin, since he has no money. Then he delivered the funny line, "had I had money, I would have even been able to marry her mom"
The song was supposed to market a movie, but someone thought the lyrics go well to explain to the common man the issue many have with the brotherhood or the Ikhwan. I am not one of those who fear them, I do not particularly care for them either.
I do think that they should do a better job explaining themselves and the things they can do for the country. Instead, they get caught in side fights about religious outfits and women matters. Anyhow, I think the song is funny and I think it speaks about all things Egyptian at the moment.
Love it or hate it, it's all about humor. People who have a sense of humor are the ones that matter, those who do not lugh, do not tend to live long. Hisham Abbas might not like that his video is bring used for this end, but something tells me, he would not be rooting for the brotherhood.

You know you made it, when people start making parody videos of your work. One Direction is making the internet crazy as they are now considered the hottest boy band in the globe. That's when the internet starts to do its thing. Viral videos you make, and other viral made about you.
A group of young American teenagers thought they would get thousands of hits if they copy One Direction and start answering fake fans questions. Jason, Ryan and Travis from the fake One Direction visit Mark and read YOUR comments! I like these videos and I think they are faltering for the band. If One Direction if offended--which I do not think they are then, it's safe to say they got no sense of humor.
I do not know much about Misa'a Handyla and nor does the internet. They only thing you can fine is this duet song of hers with Ahmed Dari. Ahmed composes, writes and sings for Palestine. He is well versed in politics, and culture. But what I do appreciate about him is his since of humor. He has that kind of cynical humor that can grill the obscure.
Take for example, the new Palestinian State which President Abbas promised to get out of the United Nation. It's humorous idea and he felt it was so. But he made a song before for it, now comes another song with this little known Mis'a who shared his sense of humor.
Ahmed's lute has never sounded louder before. I love that he plays backup for this song. I liked the line where it says, this is a country we cannot afford to buy and the UN told us we do not need. Mis'a is up to a good start, she does need further vocal training, but as far as this song she has what it takes.

I have known many Sudanese in my life and have come to appreciate them and their sense of humor. Contrary to what the norm says, they are among the most educated and brightest Arabs you will meet, some of them work all the way in NASA and make world class surgeons in various European capitals.
But this is about the other Sudanese, the ones who like to have fun, even if they are poor and have little talent. A song about a Sudanese who wants to get married because he sees everyone with a wife. The son cries to his father so that he can have a wife. He tried to clam him down.

She is the captain of the national soccer team and he is a player and a softie. They meet and get hitched. Then the jokes start piling up as they try to survive their wedding and the life after. The movie trailer promises lots of laughter as I am smelling some great writing.
What gives a way good writing and a funny movies is a reduced amount of naked people and sexually infested lines. It's really easy to make dirty jokes, but to make a funny movie without it and have people laugh is really comedy. The star lineup includes funny man Ramiz Jala, Edward and the surprise of comedy Amy Ghanim. Raja'a Al Jidawy and others play supporting roles.
I like to see a tough girl for change where she also happens to have some funny lines as opposed to being a punching bag. I did enjoy the trailer and think you are in for a treat. Notice the scene in the cinema where Amy picks a fight with some chunky dude over romantic movies--she has the funniest line.

Passengers in an delayed airplane in Toronto's International Airport, passengers were in for a treat. Most of us know what it feels like to be stuck in an airplane and going nowhere. You get no food and you might not be able to use your devices. This Air Canada plane was delayed for 20 minutes in the tarmac as they plane was heading to Bucharest.
On the plane there was a band "Lemon Bucket Orchestra", they were more than happy to cheer up the crowd for few minutes. This could only work for few minutes, because after that people might start getting irritated. I do happen to like the music style played by the band and I appreciate the passengers who got into it by clapping and dancing.

The Arab world's biggest female pop star is rightfully so because she makes the right decisions both on personal and professional level. Now comes her second album geared for kids. In 2007 she has her first all kids album, it was a smash hit and many copied the concept behind it. Five years later, she is a little older and wiser, plus two little girls of her comes her second album.
On another note the production value for the album is pretty good, why not? Nancy Ajram is well funded and her albums sell big and for a good reason. There's a Happy Birthday song that has the potential to be a classic. What Nancy Ajram is doing is reaching to a younger generation to cement their love of her music and her voice which something she can capitalize on for years to come.
We have the sample of the album as the promo was released two days ago. This is a happy albm that will get your kids to dance and give you a giggle. This sounds like a decent album that even parents can enjoy listening to it with their kids. There's real money in such albums, but something tells me Nancy is doing it for her two little girls.

The title is inspired by the song below, by Mado and Wael Amar, the boldest indie singers in post Mubarak Egypt. I have always liked them because they seem free spirited and tend to be ahead of the curve when it comes to politics in their home Egypt.
This is not an ordinary song, it's a humorous one. In these song, they apologize to the president and tell him we did not mean to take you out and those who have been murdered are nothing but Photoshop. Mado and Wael have collaborated before, but this song of theirs seems to be the most sarcastic to date. Not only do they pick on Mubarak, but also on the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Morsy.
I am afraid that these two guys are right on the money, but the reality is there seems to be little chances anything will change. Either one guy who's part of the old guard or another guy who might have too many skeletons in his closet. The guitar and the clip seems to be rushed as protesters go back in the streets asking for Shafik to be shown the door.

I have been to Egyptian produce market, the people there are not at gorgeous nor as well dressed as this music video make them out to be. In the clip below, you will see three Egyptian dudes duke it out over a Lebanese girl who dances and moves in suggestive manner. These people live in a vacuum, this is yet another crappy movie from sleazy Egyptian movie producer El Sabaky.
These movies do make a profit, and their formula is simple, get a Lebanese girl, a local singer and two other actors with a little girl, then you get yourself a movie that no blockbuster, but makes enough money. This time, they hired Amar, a mother out of wedlock and we do not know who the father is. This is an issue because Amar sued a big TV exec alleging he is the father only to find out that the father is some broke guy.
Anyhow, Ammar is not the only one to blame here, but she seems to want to work now and she got a role in this movie due this summer. She seems to play a little Lola character girl that drives other men crazy. She is at the market now shopping when three different duded try to win over her heart. Ammar who is at least 27 playing a 17 year old girl. Her comeback to all of them, I will tell my brother and my father!
Flaying anywhere has been an experience form hell lately, they charge for everything, give you terrible services, but not before they charge you an arm and a leg, and put their arm in between your legs to check for dangerous material. Now some guy got way made when Jet Blue, an American airline lost his bag, why should he complain why he can just sing about the whole ordeal. As someone who has lost bags in the airline before, it's never humorous.

In February of 2011, I was traveling for work from NY to Orlando, FL on an airline which shall remain nameless for now. I surrendered 2 bags of luggage to be checked with the airline. When I arrived in Orlando, the one bag filled with clothing was there, the other bag filled with approximately $9000 of audio equipment I use for work was not. I was never given an explanation as to what happened to my missing bag, instead, the airline offered me $546.32 in consideration of the bag itself & some other allowances according to company policy. What ever happened to my bag? I had to use my imagination. See if you can guess which airline it was...
